riseabove and I are really scratching our heads (respectively, not each others...yet...) to try to figure out how to get this group going without making you all (or us) feel like this is a burden instead of a way to do a good deed.
So, what if we altered the rules a little bit? Here is my idea.
Instead of trying to send in as much stuff as possible, we will start sending riseabove the fixings for one bag, and there will be different bag "motifs" so you will know exactly what to send. So, for example, if you like buying the powdered drink mixes, you could spend $5-6 and send the fixings for a "refreshment bag of home." The items for that type of bag could be 3 packets of powdered beverage, a pack of wet ones, and maybe a neck cooler or something like that.
If you travel a lot and collect a lot of toiletries, maybe you could work on "Hygiene bags of home," which could include one bar of soap, one mini shampoo, one mini body spray, etc.
Would this make it easier, so that you know *exactly* what you would need to fill one bag?
As far as the bags go, if you want to provide your own little bag as well, that's fine, but you could also just send the items in a little box and say what kind of bag it's for, and how many bags you are filling. So you could say, "this bag is for a hygiene bag, this contains items for a blah blah bag," etc.
